‘Be Ready to Cross The Border’

The presentation covers the formalities for vehicles from France to UK, and UK to France from 1st January 2021.

Eurotunnel Border Pass
3 types of requirements:
- Customs references (ie. Transit MRN barcodes, Goods Movement References)
- Mandatory sanitary certs. (ie. animal & plant products)
- Safety & Security references (ie. ENS)
This data can be sent in advance, no later that 30 minutes before arrival, to Eurotunnel through the online booking account before the drivers arrives at the terminal. The vehicle is then automatically recognised by ANPR and the driver has nothing further to show. This option is clearly most favoured by Eurotunnel and likewise ChannelPorts would encourage hauliers to follow this option where possible. Alternatively, the driver can arrive at the terminal with their border references without sending anything in advance. The barcodes will then be scanned by Eurotunnel staff at the Pit Stop.
